If someone offered a fast food delivery service would you use it?

My brother and I are thinking about offering a fast food delivery service in the town we live in and we were wondering if people would use it and what would people pay for a delivery fee?

Yes. I've always wished that was available!

I probably wouldn't use a delivery service for fast food mostly because you can easily find fast food nearby no matter where you are. Plus, most delivery services have a minimum price you need to reach before they'll deliver, which is harder to reach with fast food.

I would, however, love to see more delivery services for sit-down restaurants. There used to be one in my hometown, The Restaurant Connection, where you could order online (or over the phone) from a variety of different restaurants like Red Lobster, Olive Garden, etc. and have it delivered to your home. The only thing about the way that worked was you could only order from certain restaurants depending on where you lived, so while I could order from India Palace from my place, I couldn't order from there if I were at my parent's house across town. Still, it was a great service, and I wish they had something like that here!

I think a delivery fee of no more than $4 would be acceptable, but maybe you could have different rates depending on the mileage, so that a delivery that's not very far wouldn't have as much of a delivery fee as someone who's on the edge of your delivery area. If you charge too high a delivery fee, though, I think people are less likely to tip well. Some people mistakenly think that the delivery fees that places like Papa John's and Pizza Hut charge are for the drivers tip, but it's really not...

No. For one, I can't afford it and two, I don't eat that crap.

When I did work for some pizza chains and had to deliver, there was a couple of bucks delivery charge, but the delivery people made bare minimum with a 25 cent delivery bonus and tips.

Mainly I worked for tips. I made more in tips than I did on my weekly check.

With the economy down right now, I wouldn't suggest it. Besides, it's really rough on your vehicles.

It depends on how much of a fee because who cares about a dollar menu you if it cost more then your meal to deliver you should only deliver for like bigger purchases

This is normal in places outside the suburban US...

Generally places do not charge within a certain mileage. If you charge delivery then don't expect a tip!

No, fast food and fast food delivery are for lazy people.

Put your idea to those take-away places that don't offer delivery already. Sounds stupid but do as much research as poss.

Only if the food arrived in a vaguely warm condition.

Absolutely! Most larger cities have restaurant courier services. I would utilize them in a heart beat!

I would use it at least a couple nights a week. I'd also use a company that would do my grocery shopping for me.

I might use it occasionally

A million times yes! I often said someone could make a mint doing that. I get so sick of Chinese and Pizza.

AS CRAZY HORSE says I agree with her,, plus the price of gas??!!!

yea

What is a food delivery website where there isn't a $20 minimum for ordering?

The website should deliver to the zipcode of 21044. What I mean by $20 minimum is that they require you to have at least $20 dollars worth of food, or you cannot place an order for delivery.

I've never heard of a restaurant that would deliver for less than $20 except for maybe a pizza joint if you can find one. If you tell them you'll tip decently (meaning $5.00+), they may send someone out to deliver your order.

If you were a company, would you like to send someone out to your house for a $5.00 order, when it costs probably $5.00 in gas, maintance and time to get to your house. Go out a drive down to the place instead. or better yet take a walk. it would be better for the environment.

How could i start a food delivery busines?

I would like to start a food delivery for sushi place. Currently my status is Practical Training after my school finished ( F-1 Visa). My plan is to put the menu at website and I will charge customer online. Is there is any ways i should do at first such as to get business permit and register to the credit card company?

I am located in Alhambra,CA

Look up an organization called SCORE. They help get small biz out of the planning stages.

you're gonna need some credibility for someone to give you their payment infor - taking card payments online as yourself for someone else's business may be a little hard -

buy a truck

What is a proper to for food delivery?

What is a proper tip to give for food delivery such as pizza, diners, and chinese food? I usually give around $2 or round up to the closest two dollars. What do you think is appropriate? Thanks.

15% is the way to go .

We always tip $2 for the two of us. However, if we have the kids over and have to order 5 pizzas and breadsticks and the whole schmear, then more like $5-7.

I tip 10% of the bill for home delivery drivers.

always tWo dollARS. give the extra change if necessary.
